Class 12 general examinations scheduled for the 2020-2021 academic year have already been canceled due to the Corona epidemic. A committee comprising officials including the Principal Secretary of the Department of Higher Education, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Chennai and the Headmasters of the schools has submitted its report to the Government to decide on the scoring system for students.
The marks obtained in Class 10,11 general examinations have already been published. The panel of experts has recommended that the final marks for Class XII be awarded on the basis of the following ratio, having completed the Class 12 recipe examinations and awarded the marks accordingly.

1. Class 10 General Examination (Average of 3 subjects with high marks) - 50%

Class 2.11 General Examination (Written marks obtained in each subject only) - 20%

3. Class 12 Verb Exam or Internal Marks - 30%

A total of 30 marks will be taken into account in each subject in Class 12 as Recipe Examination (20) and Internal Assessment (10).

In subjects which do not have a recipe test, the score obtained in the internal assessment (10) will be changed to 30 marks and will be taken into account throughout '(Extrapolated to 30 marks)'.

Students who are unable to appear for the Class XII Recipe Examination for a variety of reasons, including corona epidemic, will be taken into account in the score obtained in their Class 11 Recipe Examination.

Students who are unable to appear for both the Class 11 and Class 12 Recipe Examinations will be given a Class 12 Recipe Exam score based on their Class 10 and Class 11 written examinations.

If they failed in any of the subjects in the Class 11 written examination last year or were unable to write the examination, they will be given a score of 35 per cent considering that they do not have the opportunity to re-write the examination at present.

Students who do not appear for either the Class 11 Written Test Internal Assessment, Recipe Exam and Class 12 Internal Assessment Recipe Exam will be given the opportunity to write the exam as separate exams.

The marks of each student will be calculated in the above manner and will be published on the website of the Department of State Examinations by July 31 as per the order of the Supreme Court.

Students who find that the marks calculated in this assessment system are less than them will be given the opportunity to write the Class 12 written examination if they wish. The marks obtained in the examination so conducted will be declared as their final marks.

For students who are about to write a separate exam, the examination will be conducted in a timely manner along with the above as soon as the corona epidemic spreads. The timetable for this exam will be announced later.

The marks of Plus 2 students will be calculated according to the announced assessment system and will be published on the Department of Examinations website by July 31 as per the Supreme Court order.
