Near Salem, police arrested a college student who was selling distilled liquor at home for Rs 1,500 a liter for income as his parents were out of work due to the Corona curfew.

Police Inspector Chandrakala received a tip-off that counterfeit liquor was being sold in the Perumagaundanpatti Klang Circle area near Irumbalai, next to Salem. Police led by him conducted an intensive investigation in the Killan Circle area.

Vadivelu's son Bhupathi (20), a resident of the area, was found selling liquor at his home.



He was subsequently arrested. Police confiscated 5 liters of liquor and 15 liters of soak from Bhupathi's house which were ready for sale.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Bhupathi was studying for a degree at the Salem Government Arts College. Corona said in her confession that her parents did not have a job because of the curfew, so she illegally brewed alcohol at home for income and sold a liter of alcohol for 1,500 rupees.

Distilled alcohol, sold in the circle of friends. It was revealed that only those who booked through WhatsApp searched the house and sold the liquor stuffed in pockets and bottles.

Following this, the police produced Bhupathi in the Salem court. He was lodged in the Salem Central Jail on a court order.
