In Uttar Pradesh, steps have been taken to bring in a new law with features including those who have more than 2 children cannot apply for government jobs.
Uttar Pradesh will go to the polls next year. Various measures are being taken in this regard. The state government has decided to enact a draft population control law before this election.
A draft bill is being prepared and suggestions are being sought from the public. It is advised to submit comments before July 19th. The bill is published on the state law website. It says:
In Uttar Pradesh, those who have more than 2 children cannot apply for government jobs. There are no promotions for government employees.
For those who have only 2 children, the contribution of the employees in the National Pension Scheme will be increased by 3 per cent. For those who have 2 children, an additional 2 increments will be given during their tenure. Or maternity leave for 12 months with full pay.
Apart from this, various measures will be taken to create awareness regarding family planning.
Lessons on population control will be included in the high school class. Steps will be taken to set up maternity centers in all government primary health centers.
These centers and charities will work together to raise awareness about family planning. Registration of pregnant women, births and deaths will be mandatory.
Thus stated in that draft bill.
The panel, headed by Justice Mittal, drafted the bill. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to make the announcement tomorrow.
