The High Court has directed the Central Government to respond in the ongoing cases against and in support of the panel set up to diagnose NEET selection vulnerabilities.
The Tamil Nadu government has formed a panel headed by retired judge AK Rajan to look into the implications of the NEET exam. Nagarajan was prosecuted in a Chennai court. Based on speculation, the Tamil Nadu government had filed a petition seeking dismissal of the case filed by the BJP as it was pursued for political purposes.
The students, Dravidar Kalaka leader K. Veeramani, DMK organizing secretary RS Bharathi, DMK general secretary Vaiko, Communist parties, Congress leader KS Alagiri Vizika leader Thirumavalavan and academic Prince Gajendrababu have filed a petition seeking to join the case as interlocutors. they did.
The case came up for hearing before a bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjeev Banerjee and Justice Senthilkumar Ramamurthy. Wilson, a senior lawyer who appeared for the student at the time, said the BJP's case was being pursued for publicity and political purposes. He argued that there was no public interest in this. The Tamil Nadu government was then informed that it was ready to argue in this case.
At the same time, the Central Government was asked to respond to the petition. The judges, who recorded the case, ordered the federal government to respond to the case by July 8. They also adjourned the hearing to July 13 due to the importance of the case and the need to get separate arguments from students and political parties.
