The death toll from a landslide at a cottage in the Bharat Nagar area of Mumbai's Sempur has risen to 17.
Another crash left 3 people dead in a building collapse in the Vikhroli area. The Corporation of Mumbai has announced.
The landslide occurred at around 1 am in the Sempur Bharat Nagar area due to incessant heavy rains in Mumbai. Thus, the wall collapsed and fell on the cottages. The death toll has risen to 17, according to the Mumbai Corporation.
Also, two of the injured who were trapped in the rubble have returned home from the hospital after completing treatment.
Earlier, firefighters rescued 16 people trapped in the rubble.

Earlier today (Sunday), 11 people were killed when a wall collapsed in the Sempur area of Mumbai. The fire department said 16 people had been rescued in the crash. The death toll in two separate incidents on the same day has caused great grief among the people of Mumbai.
Most parts of Mumbai have been flooded due to heavy rains over the past few days. In Hanuman Nagar areas, houses have been flooded and the livelihood of the people in the area has been severely affected. As part of this, the Meteorological Department issued an orange warning to Mumbai yesterday.
