Swami Madurananda Maharaj is the founder of Kanyakumari Sri Vivekananda Ashram

Vellimalai Sri Vivekananda Ashram published a short book on the life history of the Swamis in June 1999. I will post it here as it is.

Introduction

So far I have been living a pure life. This is the only miracle I have ever seen in my long life. No miracle or evil thought has arisen in my mind. This is the answer he gave when asked by Swami Madurananda.

This is the answer of a monk who came in the way of Lord Sri Ramakrishna, Mother Saratha Devi and Swami Vivekananda. They never miraculously possessed certain powers such as Siddha work and healing. They considered a pure, immaculate life to be a paradise. They tried to live such a life. Swami Maduranandar lived such a wonderful life among us.

Youth

Swamiji was born on Friday 14th April 1922 (Visakha star in the month of Chittirai) in a small town called Iraniyal in Kanyakumari district. Bandarampillai and Lakshmi's mother got the chance to have him as a son. His parents gave him the name Subbaiah Pillai. The three most important qualities found in the Swamis at a very young age are devotion to the Lord, devotion to the saints, and non-violence.

In front of his house was a Bajaj monastery. Daily Shri Ram Puja and Bajna were held there. These were the first influences on the lives of the Swamis. At an early age, the Swamis had the opportunity to read texts such as Thevaram, Thiruvasakam, Tirupukal and Gita.

Swamis would worship anyone who saw him wearing saffron and take him home and give him food. He will not miss any opportunity to serve them.

When he was in the sixth grade, the Tamil teacher was in a day class,
All living beings worship the handmaiden who refuses to kill
Explained the screw cap. From that day on, the mother refused the animal no matter how much she owed.

Adolescent days

Characteristics like devotion, pursuit of monasticism, non-violence also occupied the adolescent days of the Swamis. Thus his passion for non-violence made him very attached to Gandhiji. Until his college days Gandhiji and his ideas had a special place in the life of the Swamis.

Swamis joined Intermediate in 1941 in Thiruvananthapuram for college studies. His college studies were also miserable. It is customary for great pundits and monks to conduct religious classes every morning at the Chitra Hindu Library in Thiruvananthapuram. He would go to college every morning after attending it. In the evening he also reads books by people like Vivekananda. When to study college subjects? Just a month before the final exam: That's when he starts studying college and leaves.

It was a very disciplined life that led the Swamis in their youth and adolescence. When it came to virtue, virtues, and spiritual achievements he never gave way to lethargy. In one of the diary notes he wrote during his college days - I spoke angrily to Inari today. So dinner was omitted - that is found. From this one can guess from what perspective he saw life and what kind of controlled life he lived.

Though his life went on as devotion, bhajana, spirituality, spirituality, he needed someone to regularize everything and guide him on a suitable path. The Swamis soon had the opportunity to meet such a person.
