Students will be given free laptops soon ..... Government information in the High Court ...!

The public prosecutor in the high court said that all the missing students will be given free laptops soon.

Petition filed by Pavukottai resident Gaudeen in the Madurai branch of the High Court:

“Free laptops are provided to government and government aided school students in Tamil Nadu. Rs 912 crore has been allocated for this project and 9.12 lakh laptops have been procured. Public school students are benefiting from the free laptop. Laptops were not provided to students in 2017-2018.

Funds have been allocated to provide laptops to students from 2018 to 2021. Laptops were not provided to students of the previous academic year. Order to provide free laptops to students who have studied in the year 2017-2018.

Thus stated in the petition.

The petition came up for hearing in the session of Chief Justice Sanjeeb Banerjee and Justice DS Sivagnanam.

The government has said, “Laptops have been procured to provide for missing students. Laptops will be provided to all students soon.

Following this, “the court cannot make an order on the policy decision of the state. However, laptops are essential for students' study. The government should consider providing free laptops to all the students who are thus missing. With this, the case is being closed, ”the Chief Justice ordered.
