Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chaudhary is set to be released soon.

Om Prakash Chaudhary, son of former Deputy Prime Minister Devilal, was embroiled in a multi-crore scam of teacher selection when he was the Chief Minister of Haryana. Om Prakash Chaudhary, along with his eldest son Ajay Singh Chaudhary, is lodged in the Delhi Tihar Jail.

Out of frustration in the family of Om Prakash Chaudhary, last December 2018, Ajay Singh nominated his two sons and started a new party called JVP. The party's leader Dushyant Chaudhary contested the last assembly elections alone and won a significant victory.

He later joined the BJP-led coalition government. Dushyant is the Deputy Chief Minister. Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chaudhary, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison in a corruption case, will be released soon.

Chaudhry, who was jailed in 2013, was released on emergency parole in March last year. During the corona spread, it was extended twice. He faces up to three months in prison.

The Delhi government has issued a new order to reduce congestion in jails due to corona spread. Accordingly, those with seven to 10 years in prison and five months to go are to be released.

He is currently out on a new order from the Delhi government.
