BJP MLAs dissatisfied with party leadership for non-fulfillment of promises .... Independent MLAs tense ...

The BJP MLAs are dissatisfied with the party leadership for not fulfilling its pre-election promises, while the independents who have supported them are frustrated.

In the run-up to the Puducherry assembly elections, the BJP made several attempts. The BJP has attracted key figures from parties including the Congress, DMK and NRC, as well as former ministers and former MLAs. Former minister Namachchivayam, MLA Jankumar and DMK MLA Venkatesh jumped to the BJP. Thus the Congress regime itself collapsed in the final stages.
Namasivam, who joined the BJP, was promised the chief ministership. But Rangasamy was given the chief ministership as he faced an election in alliance with the NR Congress and the NR Congress won more seats. Thus, the BJP had promised to give the post of Deputy Chief Minister to Namachchivayam. As the Chief Minister did not approve the creation of the post of Deputy Chief Minister for the small town of Pondicherry, now that post too has become a drain.

Similarly, Jankumar and Kalyanasundaram were promised ministerial posts. However, in the cabinet division, the status of the Speaker and 2 Ministers emerged. Thus Kalyanasundaram was not included in the list of ministers. Jankumar and his son Vivian Richard were confirmed as ministers as they joined the BJP. Now Jankumar has also been removed from the list and Saisaravanakumar from the Ooty constituency has been nominated as a minister.

The party gave the post of speaker to Ambalam Selvam, who was expecting a ministerial post. Selvam initially refused to let the speaker resign. The party persuaded him to come to power. Former Congress MLAs Deepayanthan and Jayakumar, who had left the party, had said they would be given the nomination as MLAs. However, they were not given the post.

Support Independents frustrated

Angalan, Sivasankaran and Kollapalli Siniwasa Ashok are among the six independents who have won the assembly elections, supporting the BJP. The BJP assured them that due importance would be given to them. However, pro-independence groups are frustrated that the BJP has failed to deliver on its promises to elected MLAs.

Speaking on behalf of the BJP MLAs, he said, "The upper echelons who worked in the BJP had made promises before the election. I don't have to say anything about that. "
