Four policemen have been sacked following a complaint that they had sold confiscated liquor bottles to another person.
On May 8, the Tiruchirappalli police station near Pattukottai in Thanjavur district confiscated 434 bottles of liquor illegally stored and sold in the area.
But, without properly prosecuting it, they have sent a warning to stop the arrest of the person concerned.
Also, there were complaints that the police had sold the confiscated liquor bottles to another person. Pattukottai Deputy Superintendent of Police Pukahendi Ganesan conducted an investigation on the orders of the Thanjavur Deputy Chief of Police.
The Deputy Superintendent reported to the Deputy Chief of Police based on the footage recorded on the surveillance camera.
Following this, Thanjavur Goods Police Deputy Chief Pravesh Kumar sacked Inspector Anita Crazy of Tiruchirappalli Police Station, Assistant Inspector Rajmohan, Special Assistant Inspector Thurayarasan and Chief Constable Ramamurthy.
